Our Physicians: Dr. Martin Spinella
Dr. Martin Spinella is a native of Waterbury, CT, whose personality and approach helps set the tone for CT Sinus Center's "Patient Centered" atmosphere.
Allocating ample time to meet with each patient, Dr. Spinella's goal at the initial appointment is to make a diagnosis, present options, answer any and all patient questions and work with the patient to establish a treatment plan. His explanation often includes graphs, pictorials and handouts, giving the patient a good understanding of the treatment and the goals he or she can expect. Over the years, Dr. Spinella has become known for his caring, conservative approach to patient care.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Dr. Spinella was awarded his medical degree from the University of Padova and the University of Bologna in Italy. He served his surgical internship at Waterbury Hospital, his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Vermont and holds fellowships with the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He holds a board certification in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.
Dr. Spinella has co-authored several publications and has made numerous presentations before the New England Otolaryngologic Society and the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
A former chairman of the Otolaryngology Head/Neck Surgery Department and the Laser Surgery Committee at Waterbury Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Spinella regularly attends seminars and conferences on the subject of otolaryngology throughout the nation.
